Information
World Predator League
A Predator Fishing Tournament for Real Anglers
The World Predator League tournament is held over three days, on three different waters, and targets three different species. A maximum of 150 boats will compete. Both competition and camaraderie are at the core of this event. This is the event for angling enthusiasts in the river delta of South-West Netherlands.
Goal
The goal of the World Predator League is to bring together all-round predator anglers who compete exclusively with artificial lures on the best predator fishing waters in the Netherlands. In addition to the competitive aspect, the organization aims to create a fun event where the angler is the main focus.
Waters
The competition takes place on three iconic waters in the Netherlands:
Haringvliet
Hollandsdiep
Volkerak
These waters are famous in Europe for their large predator fish. To level the playing field for all participants, each team will fish on each water for one day. The participants are divided into three groups, and each group fishes in a different order of waters. The order is determined by a draw on the registration day.
Scoring
The organization has chosen a point system based on the following fish quotas:
3 pike
5 perch
7 zander
This choice was made because, based on experience, it should be possible to catch around 300 cm per species.
Important:
There is no specific order in which the fish must be caught.
All caught fish, up to the required numbers, count towards the rankings.
Participants who catch the required amounts (full card) receive 1,000 bonus points.
Measurement:
All fish are measured in whole centimeters. For example.
42.2 cm rounds down to 42 cm.
42.5 cm rounds up to 43 cm.
The organization only accepts fish that exceed the legally set minimum sizes:
Perch: 22 cm
Zander: 42 cm
Pike: 45 cm
The rankings and live scores can be followed via the official website www.worldpredatorleague.nl.
Registration Procedure (FISH)
To help participants focus on catching the required fish, WhatsApp is used to report catches. Participants need to send photos of the caught fish to the provided phone number.
Photos to submit:
Photo 1:The fish in the angler’s right hand, with the angler clearly visible.
Photo 2: The fish on the measuring board, with the fish’s head against the headboard. This photo must show the day sticker and boat number.
After receiving the photos, the submitter will receive a confirmation of the number of centimeters caught, which will then be processed into the rankings.
Control & Participant Behavior
We ask all participants to behave respectfully towards marshalls, other participants, free anglers, and to comply with the regulations.
Rules:
Participants are expected to know and follow the rules available at www.worldpredatorleague.nl.
Control
Each participant will receive a GPS tracker, which monitors location and speed during the tournament. This data will be used to monitor violations and to call emergency services if needed. After the tournament, the data will be deleted.
In addition to GPS trackers, there will be control boats on the water to enforce and monitor the rules.
Failure to comply with the regulations will result in immediate disqualification.
Fun
Every evening, a “participants dinner” will be organized for the competitors. This buffet provides an opportunity to share experiences, fun, and catches. During the communal dinners, prizes for the biggest fish of the day will be awarded, and information for the following day will be shared.
On the final competition day, the organization will host an afterparty where participants can share their experiences while enjoying music and drinks.
Prizes
The organization has compiled an extensive prize table provided by the partners of the World Predator League. The aim is to distribute prizes across the following categories:
Largest fish per competition day:
Pike
Perch
Zander
Largest fish overall (all competition days)
Top 20 teams
This is the structure of the World Predator League, where competition, camaraderie, and respect for nature come together.
