World Predator League
Lure-Only Predator Fishing Competition
3 days & 3 waters
Lead-free predator fishing event
Catch and Release only.
Participation is activated only after payment of the €975.00 registration fee.
Registrations are only accepted via the website.
A maximum of 150 participating teams, all of whom must possess a valid fishing license.
Registration
Registration is done via the application form on www.worldpredatorleague.nl.
Registration is only valid after payment of the €975.00 registration fee.
The registration fee is non-refundable under any circumstances. Participants must contact their own insurance for coverage.
Registration closes upon reaching the maximum of 150 teams or at the discretion of the organization.
Participants have the right to cancel the agreement within 14 days after registration unless the event has already started. After this period, cancellation is no longer possible.
Refunds are only possible if the event is canceled by the organization.
By registering, participants declare that they have read and agree to the rules and conditions of the World Predator League.
Liability
Participation is at your own risk. The World Predator League and its organizers are not liable for damage, theft, personal injury, or other losses, except in cases of gross negligence or intentional misconduct by the organization.
Scoring
The total score is calculated based on 3 pike, 5 zander, and 7 perch over 3 days.
A complete card of 3 pike, 5 zander, and 7 perch earns the team 1,000 bonus points.
There is no required order of catches.
The team with the highest score wins the World Predator League.
Only fish that meet the legal minimum size requirements under Dutch law will count.
Pike: 45 cm
Perch: 22 cm
Zander: 42 cm
Fish are measured in whole centimeters. Examples:
42.2 cm rounds down to 42 cm.
42.5 cm rounds up to 43 cm.
Catch Registration
The organization uses WhatsApp for fish registration. The WhatsApp number will be provided upon registration.
Two photos per caught fish must be submitted:
A photo with the fish’s head in the right hand and the angler clearly visible.
A photo of the fish with its head against the headboard, showing the day sticker and boat number clearly.
Photos will be rejected if the day sticker or team number is not visible.
Photos can only be submitted during competition hours (8:30 AM to 3:30 PM). Photos submitted outside these times will not be accepted.
Photos must be taken horizontally.
Only fish measured on the official World Predator League measuring board will be accepted.
If the fish is not placed against the headboard, the photo will be rejected.
Photos showing unsportsmanlike behavior (e.g., dead fish, use of stinger hooks) may be rejected.
Undersized fish must be released immediately and cannot be registered.
Fish must be released immediately after measuring.
The organization validates the fish and determines the length. This decision is final.
Participants are responsible for taking their own photos.
The organization is not responsible for WhatsApp malfunctions.
By registering, participants give permission for their photos to be used for promotional purposes and acknowledge that catch records may be shared with the organization and third parties, such as Sportvisserij Zuid-West Nederland.
Monitoring
The organization uses GPS trackers, which participants are required to carry.
A €100.00 deposit for the tracker will be refunded upon return at the end of the event.
Control boats will monitor each waterway to enforce rules.
The World Predator League collaborates with Sportvisserij Zuid-West Nederland, the Environmental Agency, Rijkswaterstaat, and the Police.
GPS tracker data is used solely for competition purposes and will be deleted within 24 hours after the event. The organization ensures data compliance with GDPR regulations.
Boat Inspection
Each morning before the start of the competition, boats are inspected by a controller.
After inspection, the team receives their day sticker.
Disciplines
One rod per person may be used.
One additional rod may be rigged and ready.
Only artificial lures are allowed.
Only lead-free materials are permitted.
Using more than one rod per person at a time is prohibited.
Lures must be attached to a rod.
Systems with multiple hooks (e.g., paternosters) are prohibited.
Dead or live bait is not allowed.
All techniques (casting, vertical jigging, trolling, and live technology) are allowed.
Behavior, Guidelines, Prohibitions & Obligations
Participants must comply with all inland fishing regulations.
A valid VISpas is required for all participants.
Teams consist of 2 anglers.
Boats are inspected daily.
Switching boats is only allowed in case of motor problems or damage and must be approved by the organization.
The designated competition course must not be left.
A minimum distance of 100 meters must be maintained between boats.
In poor weather, the organization may suggest alternatives.
The competition lasts 3 days.
The organization reserves the right to modify start and end times if necessary.
In case of a shortened event, standings at the time of interruption will determine the ranking.
No refunds will be issued for shortened events.
Participants must hold a valid international boating license and be at least 18 years old.
Fishing in prohibited areas or nature reserves is forbidden.
Fish must not be killed or removed.
Feeding or using dead/live bait is prohibited during the competition.
Third-party assistance in fishing is prohibited.
Lip grips or similar tools are prohibited.
Littering in or around the water is prohibited.
Boats must have proper equipment, such as pliers for safe unhooking.
Boats must have a valid identification number.
Life jackets are mandatory.
Speed limits:
Max 20 km/h on Haringvliet.
Max 9 km/h on the southern side of Tiengemeenten.
Max 20 km/h outside the main channel on Volkerak.
Speed is monitored via GPS trackers and is decisive.
Local anglers must not be approached during the event.
Disqualification
The organization reserves the right to disqualify participants for rule violations. A competition committee decides on disqualifications in consultation with the organizers.
Disqualification reasons include:
Negligence leading to the death of a fish.
Failure to comply with the established rules will result in disqualification.
Late arrival for registration.
Inappropriate behavior, such as swearing or public intoxication.
Fishing with dead/live bait or outside the competition course.
Fishing in prohibited areas.
Exceeding speed limits.
Safety & Medical Assistance
The organization ensures the safety of participants by mandating the use of life jackets and providing basic information about safety measures. However, participants remain responsible for their own safety at all times..
Boats must be suitable for large waters.
Life jackets are mandatory at all times.
Boats must comply with Dutch legislation.
Participants must hold a swimming diploma.
It is advised to carry spare clothing, extra fuel, and an anchor.
Anchoring in shipping lanes is prohibited.
The organization’s phone number must be known to participants.
The organization is not a towing service; in the event of engine trouble, participants must ensure their own safety.
Participants are solely responsible for their own safety and liability.
Participants must have insurance coverage for illness, accidents, and medical assistance.
In case of illness or accidents, participants must contact a (local) doctor themselves.

Insurance
Participating teams must have insurance coverage for legal liability, damage to third parties, accidents, and damage to the participants themselves.
The insurance must be valid for the duration of the competition, and participants must provide proof of insurance to the organization before participating.
A team without insurance will be denied participation, with no right to a refund of the registration fee.
Disclaimer
Participation in the World Predator League is entirely at your own risk.
Participants must adhere to the regulations and act as prescribed.
Participating teams must be insured against damage, theft, accidents, etc.
No claims can be made for a refund of the registration fee.
Privacy
The World Predator League processes personal data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Data such as catch results and photos may be shared with Sportvisserij Zuid-West Nederland and other relevant parties.
Participants have the right to access, correct, or delete their data and can contact the organization for this purpose.
